Ely means business

Ely is in a huge growth phase and major employment areas in Ely include the 174-acre Lancaster Way Business Park situated on the west side of the city, Ely Octagon Business Park to its south and the Potters Distribution Centre located in the east. Ely’s setting so close to Cambridge puts it within easy commuting distance of the Cambridge cluster, national retailers, university buildings, Biomedical Campus, Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Science Park.

As a rapidly expanding regional hub, Lancaster Way Business Park is home to a diverse mix of 80 business employing around 1,400 people. Extending to 175 acres of commercial land, making it one of the largest in the East of England region, when the area is fully developed it is estimated that the business park will provide employment for more than 3,000 people. There is a wide range of companies situated on the business park including; Aristo Pharma, Anson Packaging, Michel Instruments, Cambridge Commodities and Volvo Trucks among many others.
